A new business park worth £10 million has been approved to be built on the site of a former industrial giant, marking a significant moment in the effort to revive one of Scotland’s iconic industrial areas.
Fusion Assets has been granted planning permission for the new employment hub at Ravenscraig, which used to house one of the largest steelworks in the country before shutting down in 1992.
The upcoming site will feature a variety of industrial buildings catering to both small and large businesses, covering a total area of 62,000 square feet. It will offer space for office work, industrial activities, distribution, and storage. The plan includes three standalone buildings for larger businesses and a fourth structure divided into seven units for smaller enterprises.
Strategically located across from the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, the six-acre site is part of SevenFourEight, a new production and logistics hub at the core of Ravenscraig.
