A young lad from Glasgow got discovered dead in the water off the Gold Coast in Australia. Lewis Jack, 22, went missing on Saturday, May 17, after vanishing in the Surfers Paradise area. His body got found on Tuesday, May 20, near the Isle of Capri around 7.40pm local time. The local authorities mentioned they ain’t treating his death as suspicious.

Heartbroken grandma took to social media to share the devastating news, writing: “My beautiful grandson has sadly been found, and it breaks my heart.” A GoFundMe campaign has been kickstarted to help Lewis’s family bring him back home to Scotland. The organiser, Toni-Lee Donnelly, stated, “On May 17, 2025, our beloved Lewis Jack went missing in the Surfers Paradise area of Australia at 8pm. His family back in Scotland was waiting anxiously for some good news, but tragically, on May 20, 2025, we got the devastating confirmation that he’s no longer with us.”

The fundraiser has received over 200 donations, raising more than £7,000 so far. A spokesperson from the Foreign Office mentioned, “We are supporting the family of a British man who passed away in Australia and staying in touch with the local authorities.”
