A tragic incident occurred on Thursday, October 17 in Ayrshire involving a fatal road crash that claimed the life of 27-year-old Alana Muir from Darvel. The collision took place at 11:05 am on the A71 between Newmilns and Darvel, involving a red Ford Focus Zetec and a silver Mercedes Vito. Sadly, Alana was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services responded to the crash, and a 24-year-old man who was a passenger in the Ford was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mercedes, a 52-year-old man, was also taken to Crosshouse University Hospital in Kilmarnock with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sergeant Martin Cunningham expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts remain with Alana’s family and friends at this very difficult time.” Police investigations are ongoing, and anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to come forward. Drivers who were in the area at the time are asked to check their dash-cam footage for any information that could aid the investigation.
