Scottish Comedians Pay Tribute to Alasdair Gray at GICF
Scottish comedians Alan Bissett, Ashley Storrie, and Christopher Macarthur-Boyd will be collaborating to create and stage work celebrating the late Alasdair Gray at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. The Tribute Event
Titled “Gray Matters: A Laugh for Glasgow’s 850 Years,” the event is set to take place on March 23, 2025, as part of the Glasgow 850 Festival Fund’s yearlong celebration of the city’s birthday. Additionally, scratch performances will be held on ‘Gray Day’ on February 25 at Òran Mór. This collaboration marks the first time the Alasdair Gray Archive and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival will join forces to honor Gray’s impactful contributions to Scottish literature and art.
Comedic Responses
The three comedians have immersed themselves in Gray’s archive to craft responses that delve into different aspects of his work.
