revitalizing-underserved-city-neighborhood-with-first-high-quality-grocery-store

Sainsbury’s just signed the lease for a swanky new Sainsbury’s Local store at Northwood Investors and PLATFORM_’s flagship Build to Rent development at Anderston Quay in Glasgow. The new store will be located within the 498-apartment complex and is scheduled to open its doors in June.

Residents at PLATFORM_ and the surrounding neighborhood, which is currently lacking a local supermarket, will finally have access to much-needed grocery options once the new Sainsbury’s Local opens up shop. This exciting development follows successful lease agreements with Co-op and Asda at PLATFORM_’s projects in Cardiff and Leeds.

David Pilbeam, Sainsbury’s Director of Property Acquisitions and Capital Projects, expressed his enthusiasm for the new store, stating, “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with PLATFORM_ to bring a new Sainsbury’s Local to their largest development in Glasgow. Our goal is to make our delicious, responsibly-sourced food more accessible to customers, and this partnership allows us to do just that in a prime location.”

Duncan Harkness, General Manager at PLATFORM_ in Glasgow, added, “We can’t wait to welcome Sainsbury’s to our Glasgow community. Having a top-notch grocery store right on site will add real value to our residents and the wider local area, aligning with our mission to elevate city living by offering modern homes alongside essential amenities.”
