Rangers Football Club has received the green light to sell alcohol from a marquee during two upcoming significant matches, including an Old Firm showdown. The temporary setup will cater to fans during the Europa League clash against Spurs on December 12 and the Scottish Premiership match against Celtic on January 2.
The club secured an occasional licence to serve alcohol within the marquee located in the Edmiston House car park. Police Scotland recommended a limit of four drinks per person per transaction as part of the conditions set forth in the application reviewed by the city’s licensing board.
Lawyer Stephen McGowan, representing Rangers Football Club, emphasized the desire to elevate hospitality and enhance the overall matchday experience for fans. He stressed that all marquee bookings must be made in advance, with no walk-ins permitted, and attendance is capped at 200 individuals.
