Global Airlines, a UK-based startup, is making significant progress towards launching passenger flights next year. The airline’s first aircraft is now stationed at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, marking the beginning of its mission to revolutionize commercial air travel.
The airline has started applying the Global livery to its first Airbus A380 plane, with interior refurbishment plans underway and maintenance work scheduled to begin in the coming weeks. Airbourne Colours, Europe’s only privately-owned aircraft painting specialists, recently completed the initial phase of work on the new livery identity for Global Airlines’ A380.
Global Airlines acquired the A380 earlier this year after it was previously operated by China Southern Airlines and ferried to Mojave in late 2022. The aircraft made its way to Glasgow Prestwick Airport from California in May, attracting significant attention online with around 10,000 people tracking its journey on Flightradar24.
The arrival of the A380 at Prestwick marked a major milestone for Global Airlines, which aims to start operations between London, New York City, and Los Angeles in 2025 using a fleet of four A380s. The airline plans to offer an elevated onboard experience across all three cabins, including First, Business, and Global Traveller.
In preparation for its next stage of growth, Global Airlines recently announced a strategic partnership with tech-focused global law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. This partnership will support the airline’s investment strategy, capital raises, and plans to acquire additional aircraft.
CEO and Founder James Asquith expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Orrick, highlighting the growing interest from large funds and institutional investors in Global Airlines. The airline is also finalizing designs for crew uniforms as it progresses towards operational flights.
Global Airlines is committed to bringing passengers back to the Golden Age of Travel, offering enhanced service and products to create a unique and memorable flying experience. With its ambitious plans and strategic partnerships, the airline is poised to make a significant impact on the aviation industry and set new standards for air travel.
