A new Paesano venue might soon be opening up in the place of a former Italian restaurant in Glasgow. The popular pizza chain is seeking planning permission to take over the building that once housed Di Maggio’s in Shawlands, located at 1040 Pollokshaws Road.

In June, DRG, the owner of Di Maggio’s, acquired the city’s two Paesano Pizza restaurants for a significant sum. Following this acquisition, the hospitality giant announced plans to expand both brands, with the potential opening of a third Paesano eatery now in the works.

The new venue will feature the classic Paesano logo and will join the existing locations on Miller Street and Great Western Road, known for serving traditional Neapolitan pizza. DRG, helmed by Mario Gizzi and Tony Conetta, also operates other popular establishments such as Di Maggio’s, CafĂ© Andaluz, and Amarone.

The planning application for the new Paesano venue is currently under review by Glasgow City Council officials, with a decision expected to be reached by Tuesday, December 17th. If approved, the addition of another Paesano restaurant would further solidify the chain’s presence in the city and offer pizza lovers another location to enjoy their delicious offerings.

The potential opening of a new Paesano venue in Shawlands represents an exciting development for fans of the popular pizza chain and Italian cuisine enthusiasts in the Glasgow area. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of the planning application and the official confirmation of the third Paesano eatery in the city.
