West Lothian police are currently searching for two suspects involved in an attempted dog theft and assault that took place in the Rigghouse View area of Whitburn. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 15th around 6:40 pm when a 40-year-old man was walking in an alleyway.
The two suspects, described as around 20 years old, were wearing dark clothing and spoke with Scottish accents. They assaulted the man and attempted to steal his dog before fleeing towards Pokemmet Road. Fortunately, the victim received medical treatment from the Scottish Ambulance Service at his home following the attack.
Authorities are now asking for the public’s assistance in providing any information that could aid in their investigation. Detective Constable Lynn Myles from Livingston CID emphasized the importance of identifying and locating the two individuals responsible for this alarming incident.
In particular, the police are seeking any local residents who may have witnessed the suspects fleeing towards Pokemmet Road or have doorbell video footage that could assist in identifying them. Additionally, individuals with private CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam footage are encouraged to review their recordings and report any relevant details to the authorities.
