A woman, 67 years old, met with a fatal crash on the A75 between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee on Saturday night. The incident involved a grey Ford Ka and a white Seat Ibiza car. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 8.50 pm on Saturday, May 3, where three individuals were transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, the 67-year-old driver of the Seat Ibiza succumbed to her injuries at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. The 19-year-old driver and 16-year-old passenger of the Ford Ka are currently hospitalized with severe injuries.
In another tragic turn of events, a driver was killed in a three-vehicle crash that included a cyclist and a taxi. The hunt is on for a speeding driver who reached 160mph to evade a police stop. Furthermore, four more individuals have been arrested as part of a police crackdown on gang violence in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Sergeant Lloyd Caven expressed condolences to the deceased woman’s family and mentioned that investigations into the circumstances are ongoing. He urged anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.
